He is an extremely talented player from India. He has established so many records in cricket, which is hard to break for any new cricket player. He started playing cricket very young, and he is a passion for cricket, and hard work made him the greatest player of cricket.
He was born in Mumbai on April 24, 1973, making him Taurus according to the Western system of zodiacal calculations. He was one of the most talented children and started playing cricket at the age of five. At age 11, two years after he first picked up a bat, he played for India in the 1986 World Cup. He was probably the youngest ever to play for India.
Since then, there has been no stopping this man who has turned out to be an unbeatable champion. Five years after his debut, he broke Brian Lara’s record for highest Test score by an Indian batsman. This feat seems unbreakable now because it will take several centuries for several batsmen even to approach it.
Sachin Tendulkar is the most celebrated sportsman ever in India. With double-digit international centuries, he is in a league of his own, and he has even recently surpassed Brian Lara to become the world’s greatest run-getter. He is called “God” by Indians, and cricket lovers wish to see him bat for longer than ever before. Who knows how many more titles he could notch up if this were possible? He has scored over 39,000 runs in international cricket spanning 22 years, started at the top without batting for even one day and reached the pinnacle of achievement within one year. However, he has still given no signs of resting on his laurels.
Many feel that cricket has been tainted by its success. In a sport in which luck is a major factor, they say, he tends to turn out the way one would expect when the odds are stacked in his favor. Yet, they remain helpless when he is batting. There is nothing that can match his style and charisma on the field. As a child and as an adult of 37 years, he has always been distinct and continues to perform at the highest level of international cricket.
He is the only player in history to score a hundred international centuries. He is also the first player to have scored over 30,000 runs in just one day’s cricket play. In addition, he is the cricketer who scored the first double century in one day cricket match.
When he was about 14 years old, Sachin Tendulkar started his career for Bombay Under-19s while still just a schoolboy at Shardashram Vidyamandir. After completing his studies, he joined the Mumbai Club of Maharashtra senior division. In 1989, when Tendulkar was only 16 years old, India played an ODI match against Pakistan at Karachi, where Sachin got his debut chance. Srikanth was a bit injured and wasn’t able to play that match. Tendulkar was included in the team in place of Srikanth. Sachin came up with a superb performance on his debut by scoring 48 runs.
Later, he didn’t get to play any further matches in the series. In 1990-91, India toured England for a five-match ODI series. In the third match of the series played at Birmingham, Sachin got another chance to make his international debut against England in an ODI match when Azharuddin was forced to sit out due to illness and Sachin was included in the team as a replacement. He scored only 8 and 18 runs in the match.
In 1992, along with Javagal Srinath, Sachin was part of the Indian team that toured England for three Tests and five ODIs. In one of the ODIs, Sachin got a chance to make his Test debut against England at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester. As expected, he didn’t seem too nervous and confident at this stage of his career and proved it by showing some nice stroke play. He scored 14 and 27 runs in his debut Test match at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester.
