IPL 2022 main facts to consider

The liking towards IPL has been increasing exponentially since 2008.  Since 2008, IPL has been conducted two times a year like March and May. The BCCI organizes IPL matches. Like every year IPL matches will be organized in 2022 also. This year’s game will be played in India.

Some additional information about IPL 2022

In this year the start date of IPL  2022 will be 2nd  April and it will end on 3rd June. 10 teams will participate in these IPL matches.

The IPL 2022 team lists are Delhi capitals, Punjab kings, Chennai super kings, Kolkata knight riders, Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal challengers Bangalore, Lucknow supergiants, and Gujarat titans. 

There are 74 matches organized this year. The debut match will be played in M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.  Now we are going to discuss the IPL 2022 schedule.

The first match will be held between Chennai super kings and Kolkata knight riders at 7.30 pm. The 15 th edition of IPL will be conducted on various stadiums like Eden gardens stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium, Wankhede stadium, Feroz Shah Kotla stadium, M.A. Chidambaram stadium, and BRSABV Ekana cricket stadium. 

The list of players sold and unsold in IPL 2022

The IPL 2022 auction was held in Bengaluru. The IPL mega auction took place for two days 12th February and 13 February. The live auction began at 11 am in two days. There are 600 players in the auction pool.

On day 1, Avesh khan was the costliest player in the auction of IPL. He was sold to Lucknow supergiants for Rs.10 crore. Ishan Kishan was the biggest buy of the first day to Mumbai Indians for 15.25 crore.  The bidding war was started for Deepak Chahar. 

Ultimately Chennai super kings bought him for 14 crores.  Some players such as Steve Smith, Suresh Raina, M, Siddharth, Vishnu Solanki, Adam Zampa, Imran Tahir, and many other players remained unsold in IPL 2022.

The Indian player like Shikhar Dhawan was bought by Punjab kings for 8.25 crore, Ravichandran Ashwin was bought by Rajasthan Royals for 5 crores, Kolkata knight riders bought Sreyas Iyer for 12.25 crore, and Umesh Jadav for 2 crores.

Gujarat titans took Md Shami for 6.25 crores, Hardik Pandya for 15 crores and Subhuman Gill for 8 crores, Wriddhiman Saha for 1.90 crores. Royal challengers Bangalore bought Dinesh Kartik for 5.50 crore, Ambati Rayudu was bought by Chennai super kings for 6.75 crores. The list of players sold and unsold in IPL 2022

Ultimately 590 players -355 uncapped 7 from associate nations, 288 capped are shortlisted for IPL 2022 auction.

Instead of Vivo, the Tata group was selected as the title sponsor for IPL 2022.  In this season two new teams like Gujarat titans and Lucknow supergiants were joined. 

According to the BCCI, the cities like Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi are shortlisted as host cities for 15 th season of IPL. The sports network telecast this IPL.  Phase 2 of IPL 2022  is yet to be confirmed.
